How To Root HTC Desire 626s: Easy Methods You Can Do – The HTC Desire 626S was announced and released in July, 2015. The smartphone may be a bit dated today but it still has the power to run the essential apps we use everyday. The mobile phone is 5.78 inches long x 2.79 inches wide x 0.32 inch thick. It comes very light at just 4.90 ounces.

The HTC Desire has a 5-inch capacitive multitouch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (294 pixels per inch) and can display 16 million colors. It has HTC Sense UI 7 on top of Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) out of the box but can be upgraded to Android version 6 (Marshmallow).

The smartphone is powered by a Quadcore 1.1. GHz Cortex A-7 CPU with a Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210 chipset. The image and video requirements are handled by an Adreno 304 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU).

The mobile device has 8 gigabytes of internal memory with 1 gigabyte of RAM. It has a dedicated microSD card slot that can handle up to 256 GB of external memory via SD card.

How To Root HTC Desire 626s: Using A Computer

As usual, we always issue this warning: will not be held responsible for any damage that may happen to your device while rooting it. The rooting process may brick your Android phone, corrupt your data/SD card or cause other unknown problems. Remember to back up your phone/data before attempting to root it. You assume all responsibilities when trying out the rooting tutorial outline below.

Before rooting your HTC Desire 626s, make sure that you do the following to minimize the risk of bricking or damaging your device.

  • Enable USB Debugging on your smartphone.
  • Check that the bootloader of your device is unlocked.
  • Your device is at least 60% charged.
  • Minimal ADB and Fastboot tools are installed.

Follow the steps below to gain root access on your HTC Desire 626s.

Step 1. Download Minimal ADB and Fastboot tools from this link, put them in a folder, and install them on your computer.

Step 2. Download Cyanogen Recovery from this link.

Step 3. Get SuperSu from this link.

Step 4. Rename the Cyanogen Recovery to “img” and move it to the Minimal ADB and Fastboot tools folder.

Step 5. Switch off your mobile.

Step 6. Put your smartphone into “Download” mode by pressing the “Power” and “Volume Down” buttons simultaneously.

Step 7. Using the usb cable provided, connect your HTC Desire 626s to your computer.

Step 8. Open the Minimal ADB and Fastboot tool folder.

Step 9. Open a “Command Window” by pressing the “Shift” key + “Right Mouse Button“.

Step 10. In the Command Window, enter this command: flashboot flash recovery recovery.image. This will flash the Cyanogen Recovery on your mobile.

Step 11. Copy the SuperSu  file to the internal storage of your mobile phone.

Step 12. Enter “Recovery Mode” by turning off your device and simultaneous press the Power and Volume Down keys. Select “Reboot to bootloader” using the Power button and select “Boot to recovery menu” by using the Power button once more. You will see the “Cyanogen Recovery” menu.

Step 13. Choose “Apply update” and “Select from internal storage“. Choose the “” file and flash it using the “Power” button.

Step 14. Wait for the process to finish then reboot your smartphone.

Look for the “Super User” app in your app drawer or your homescreen. This means you have successfully rooted your HTC Desire 626S!

Step 1. Using your smartphone browser, download KingRoot app from this link.

Step 2. Install the app after the download is finished.

Step 3. Now connect to the internet and open the KingRoot App.
