Now I got the idea of this article because my SD card also got corrupted and all the data which I was preserving for a long period of time got deleted. Now in this article I’m going to tell you how to fix corrupted SD card without losing data. Now there are a lot of methods by which you can fix corrupted SD card without losing data, almost all of them are quite easy and can be implemented by any person without any difficulty. So given below are some steps by which you can fix corrupted SD card without losing data.

  • SD card is Connected Properly:

First of all make sure that the SD card is connected properly at its right place. Many times it happens that the SD card is not placed properly and it shows a message that “no files found”.  So all you have to do is to take out your SD card and re-insert it again. There is a very minute chance that this will solve your problem but though it is one of the simplest methods available, so you should at least give it a try.

  • Try it With Some Other Phone:

Now sometimes it happens that some SD cards don’t work with a particular Smartphone but as soon as we put it in some other Smartphone it works properly. All you need to do is take a Smartphone of your friend or neighbor and insert your SD card into it and connect it to your PC in mass storage. If your SD card will be damaged, it will not work with any Smartphone. Otherwise it will work smoothly with some other Smartphone. Many times Android device is unable to detect the memory card properly due to which it encounters an error. Putting the SD card in some other Smartphone can fix the problem.

  • Scan the SD Card for Errors:

Now if the steps given above are unable to fix the problem then you can follow the next step which is to scan the SD card. Now to scan the SD card you have to connect it to your PC via a USB cable. Now since I’m using windows XP so I can tell you the method using XP only. Just follow the stepwise guide to fix corrupted SD card without losing data. First of all Right Click on the SD card option and follow the guide –> Properties –>Tools –> Error checking –> Check Now.  After which it will open a Check disk window. Under the CheckDisk click on the “automatically repair errors in file system” checkbox and after which you have to click “Start”. Now your PC will efficiently fix all the errors present in the file system.

  • Backup Your Data:

Now in order to make sure that you don’t lose any data please make a backup of your data by copying the contents to your PC or laptop. Some files may encounter a problem while copying the contents; this is due to android hiccups. If the file is not so important to you then you may delete it and move further.

After which you can simply put your SD card back to your device and hope for the best result. The above given steps are fully functional and if in case the SD does not work properly then you can simply format the SD card from your android device as now you already have the backup with you. You can reuse the backup data after formatting the SD card..
