Export Outlook Contacts to Excel: Using Outlook’s Export Function
Let’s start with the basic by using Outlook’s built in Import/Export function to send your Outlook contacts to Excel. Follow our guide below to do this.
Go to the “Open & Export” function in Outlook.
Now select “Export” to send your contacts to an Excel CSV-compatible file.
Once you have the CSV file, click the file to open in the file in Excel.
Export Outlook Contacts to Excel: Different Outlook Versions
For this second method, you must know what version of Outlook you are using. We are going to give you instructions for Outlook 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016. To know your Outlook version, you can check out this post from Microsoft and then we can proceed with exporting your Outlook contacts to Excel.
In Outlook 2007 to 2016, the procedure described above works but you can also export your contacts to an Outlook data file (.pst) file. This way, you can import your contacts to different versions of Outlook on your other computers or if you want to import your contacts to outlook.com.
To do this, follow the same instructions outlined but instead of a choosing a CSV file, choose the pst format.
